Once upon a time, a young boy went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. He saw a child-size suit of armor and wanted it so badly that he had to be carried out of the museum kicking and screaming because his parents could not buy it for him. As a teenager, he saw chainmail at a science fiction convention, and he wanted it but it was too expensive to buy. A few years later, somebody finally explained the process, and he sat down and figured out how to make chainmail. More than twenty years later, Fergus is still making chainmail armor, jewelry, and decorative items.
